K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR) is one of the top management institutes of India. The institute was established in 1981 as a part of the Somaiya Vidyavihar educational complex. SIMSR is one of the very few management institutes to receive accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for its PGDBA & MMS Programmes. The Institute also has ISO 9001:2000 certification from BVQI.

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration: This is a two-year full time programme. The programme is approved by AICTE and accredited by NBA. Admission is done on the basis of Common Admission Test scores (CAT conducted by IIMs), followed by a written communication test, group discussion and personal interview. Suitable weightage is given to past academic record and work experience.

Masters in Management Studies: This is a two-year full time residential course recognized by the University of Mumbai and approved by AICTE and accredited by NBA. Selection is through Common Entrance Test (CET) and a Centralised Admission Procedure conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra. 50% of seats are reserved for Gujarati Linguistic Minority Quota.

Besides the above programmes the Institute conducts various part time programmes. These include Masters in Marketing Management (MMM), Masters in Financial Management (MFM), Masters in Human Resource Development Management (MHRDM), and Masters in Information Management (MIM). The duration of all the programmes is three years. Candidates seeking admission to the programmes must be graduates with minimum 2 years exp in executive / supervisory position. The admission is through on-line admission test followed by group discussion and personal interview.
