Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is a premier management institute of the country specializing in international trade. IIFT was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organisation to help professionalise the country’s foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources.


Academic courses offered by IIFT are:
Two-year MBA (International Business): This is a six-trimester general management programme with a focus on international business. The curriculum of MBA (IB) compares favourably with the curriculum of some of the world’s best International Business Schools. There is no age limit for admission to IIFT. Candidate seeking admission to IIFT must have recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline. Admissions are done on basis of written test, group discussion, and interview.

MBA – International Business (Part time): This is a nine trimester general management programme for employed people. The course duration is 3 years. Candidates seeking admission to the course must have recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline and a minimum managerial experience (including self-employed) of not less than three years. Selection is done on the basis of essay writing, group discussion and interviews.

Executive Masters in International Business: The programme duration is one and a half years. The programme is open for working executives and self-employed individuals. The candidate seeking admission to the programme must have Post Graduate Degree / Engineering Degree University and Managerial work experience of not less than three years or alternatively Graduation degree from any recognised University and managerial work experience of not less than five years. Admissions are done on the basis of essay writing, group discussion and interviews.

Certificate Programme in Export Management: The aim of this programme is to help working executives and officers develop analytical skills for export management. The candidates seeking admission to the course must have Bachelor’s Degree from any recognised Indian or foreign University or else they should be diploma holders with two years of post-diploma full time work experience.
