Expectations from an MBA !
MBA-Master of Business Administration, there are many myths about its utility, many regard it as a passport to a lucrative and successful career, many consider as a necessity but most are unable to justify Why MBA and Why not some other course. The high pay packages attract everyone and most young student would give virtually anything to gain an entry into the hallowed portals of an IIM.
The exposure and the peer group which you get in a Bschool is one of the best and biggest advantage that a Bschool FT(Full-Time) program provides effectively. The quality of students that you will interact with will be the biggest source of self-improvement and would provide you with best learning opportunities and this is one of the main reasons that Bschools prefer student coming from diverse backgrounds. With such a mixing of multi-skilled persons having different thought processes and ideas which you have never come across ,you get to see a vital facet of learning at any good Bschool. And this is main reason why a correspondence MBA is no match to a regular one.
The Faculty and the Infrastructure are the basic strength of a Bschool, as the faculty plays a very important role in development of your career, which you can get in a good Bschool and certainly the reputed one like IIM,FMS.Infrastructure is important as it opens doors for the outer world ,the library, journals and books which you would not get access to again.
Placements are a big advantage for the MBA’s, the salary’s are mouth watering , while its important to look forward towards you long term goals, one needs to remember that an MBA from a good Institute can give you just the right advantage but later on its the work that you do in the company which will fetch you promotions and rewards.
The networking you get from a bschool helps your career a long way but its important to note that a MBA from a reputed institute would mean that the world expects more out of you compared to others and to take benefit from your MBA one needs to put in a lot of effort and hardwork, which certainly is more rewarding for an MBA.
