MAT threw no big surprises this year. The whole paper was a jumbled one
consisting of 200 questions on Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning,
Quantitative ability, Verbal Ability and GK.The marking scheme was +1
for correct answer and -0.25 for a wrong answer.
In my personal opinion it was a cakewalk. And a score of 120+ could
easily fetch you 99%ile.The most important factor that will judge one's
score would be a good time allocation to all the sections with good
accuracy.Though the paper was lengthy, the difficulty level was
average. There were few challenging questions which were time consuming
which should be left without a second thought.
Well if you score 99.96+ you can target JBIMS for sure(A applicant
should apply for MCET as well). One of the best institute in India.Very
few of us know that it also accept MAT score besides MCET.Other good
colleges are Christ, Alliance, BIMTECH. The general opinion however was: MAT Feb 09 was slightly tougher than MAT Dec 08, Verbal sightly on tougher side.
