JMET 2009 was a very easy paper yet proved that such papers provide more fierce competition than any tough paper could. This turn around has added one more factor in JMET's artillery
"THE UNPREDICTABILITY" factor.

Paper had no challenge, think about this if you have 3 hrs(180 mins) to solve really very easy 120 questions or keep a target of 100. And the coaching institutes ans other websites predicted a cutoff of 70 for top 300 ranks.Such papers provide really very stiff competition as levels are equal for every student what matters is coolness. One single mistake would have costed as much as 250 ranks in the top 1000-2000 ranks,Think of the later parts!
"JMET 2009 had really very stiff competition as the level of paper was easy and lot of students found out their result not matching their calculated scores as per by various coaching institutes and websites. IIT's are notorious for dubious results as it has been the history nobody get the calculated score. Click here>> to check out pagalguy thread for JMET discrepancy in rankings.
While students got their ranks unexpectedly high or less such as this score of 71 fetched 1145 rank whereas score of 81 fetched 1398 rank. Moreover the cutoffs predicted were not considering the attention that JMET has brought to itself in recent couple of years where the people giving JMET has risen from 20K to 80k+ in 2008
." this is what i wrote in my previous article, just to recapitulate.

For the Verbal Section:->Comprehension ->Vocabulary (meanings, opposites, relationships, word pairs that cause confusion)->Grammar and Composition (sentence correction, arrangement of jumbled sentences)
LR-section:The section had 12 Qs from Analytical reasoning and a whopping 18 Qs from Critical Reasoning. There were at least 5 Qs in Analytical Reasoning that could have been answered with ease while the set of 5 Qs based on ‘persons living on different floors’ cannot be solved completely on account of some ‘missing’ information. The questions on Connectives and Deductions can be answered by most as they were on the easier side though one must say that they involved some thought on account of their apparent ‘trickiness’.
Quants:The overall look of the section, however, remained very similar to that of the previous few years’, i.e., the questions were mostly based on practical scenarios/business problems involving quant concepts, varying from differential calculus and probability distributions to simple equations and percentages. One peculiar observation that can be made regarding this section is that it was a lot easier than what it looked like.

DI:straightforward and could have been solved by simple observation. A couple of sets which had multiple graphs would have appeared difficult and confusing and would have intimidated students. However beneath the tough exterior were a set of questions that were quite doable and with the additional time available this year students would have been able to crack these as well. There were True/False questions as well.
Next year expect the competition to be stiffer and people do consider the unpredictability factor.
I expect JMET 2010 o be lot tougher than JMET 2009.
