The IIFT examination has always had some peculiar challenges which sets it apart from rest of the MBA entrance examinations these are the decimal marking system. This marking system always makes student think and strategize on the spot during examination. This year it had varied marking scheme ranging from 0.3-0.8 [ 0.8 - LR,RC,DI ] and [0.7 for Quants,Verbal] [0.3 for GK]. The point to note is that a single 0.8 marks question costs 1 mark.
DI being the worse having questions as : "which one of the following is correct /incorrect", as such questions like this eat up the precious time and giving only 0.8 marks for solving each and every option for a DI case.
Another point to note was that there wasn't any CUTOFF for any section, people have got calls with -ve marks in GK.
The biggest challenge for students is to prepare for IIFT separately and come out of the CAT after effects.
