FMS 2009 was a lot tougher paper from last year's. Last year where the cutoff had gone to 360+ because the questions were of far easy level in every section. We also saw the %50%ile barrier in each section to keep a check in the number of questions attempted in every section. The biggest challenge this year was not only the time factor but also the dubiousness of the questions. There were questions whose answers didn't match with that of options and that's where many coaching institutes have differences in their answer keys.
Questions like sqroot(8) + 3*sqroot(7) =? Some have given no answer while some has given the closest one(3sqroot(2) + 3*sqroot(7) ) saying its a printing mistake. Such questions wasted a lot of time of students.While Quants was on a moderate level,Logical reasoning came tougher than expected,RC and Verbal typical FMS type.

Verbal section had the same questions on checking the degree of words.

Which word refers genrally to creation of difficulties or delays that hold people back from doin something?
1) Hamper 2)Impede 3) Hinder 4)Obstruct
and as expected there are discrencies in answers by various coaching institutes and websites, some predict 1(IMS) whereas some 2(TCY).
All in all there were some 30odd questions like this which could make a large difference in anyone's rankings.

"If we compare it with last year's around 98.09%ile got a call from FMS. This year the number of students giving FMS is arounf 45k . Cutoff's are expected to go lower this year as this year paper was a lot tougher than last year."
